Last week we started off pretty tamely with the idea that if you're dining room set is feeling a tad stagnant you could bring it back to life by simply replacing 2 of your current chairs with 2 new ones.
This week let's turn up the risk factor a little! What if you reupholstered all your chairs with a fabric you absolutely loved?! Choose something with a pattern or a bold color, after all, the objective is to make your entire dining set look like a brand new one. You can have it done or do it yourself. My husband and I have done this many times. Start with measuring all the chairs you wish to cover to know approximately how much fabric to buy (always buy extra, enough to cover an extra chair in case something goes wrong), then with a Philips or flathead screw driver unscrew the seat from the frame and go to work!!! Some people use fabric glue to adhere the fabric to the seat, I like using a staple gun. To save even more dough, you can leave two of your chairs in the same fabric it came with (which is most likely a neutral color). Pairing the two fabrics will make it seem like you purchased ALL new chairs!
To make the room a well composed valet, you may want to feature a wall in the same color of the new fabric... totally up to you. In any case this change will leave you and anyone who walks through your door flabbergasted!
Have you reupholstered a dining room chair? What did you think of your "new" dining set after you were done?
