There is just something about visible electronic wires that bring out the mommy dearest in all of us – NO. WIRES. SHOWING!!
First came out those little plastic clips that bound the wires together; then the plastic tubes that encased the wires. But that was not good enough; we took it a step further and shoved the wires behind the wall and mounted our television over the hole. Brilliant!
Some people don’t mind the television showing but hate their electronics out in the open. In this situation, if you want something more stylish then just another brown media cabinet, Mealey’s Zen (pictured left), is a great alternative.
The bold Chinoiserie-style cabinet doors are enough of a distraction despite the glass behind it hiding all that you want not shown. The blue-green distressed coloring is a perfect way to bring color into your space. The cabinet on the right (Sierra Media Chest) although another brown cabinet offers some unique features like the pull out glass enclosed shelves for easier access to your electronics. Ultimately, you need to find something that works for you and what is in your space.
For those that prefer to hide it all, television included, the best option is to go with a keeping cabinet or other storage armoire that can be opened up when in use and closed when not. Finding something unique like the Zen cabinet above is tough especially if your television is the size of a small car. Below are a few options for you to stop on by your closest showroom and check these out in person. As always, a Mealey’s sales associate will only be so happy to guide you in the right direction to select what best suits your needs.
