In week 1 we discussed how sheer and light weight window treatment fabrics can be an issue in a room with a television since the streaming sunlight can cause screen glare making it almost impossible to see the picture. In week 2 we looked at how this kind of fabric can also be an issue in a bedroom by making it hard for late risers to get a restful sleep. This week is about the differences between custom drapes and off the shelf drapes.

Here’s a question, custom drapes or off the shelf drapes? I personally have done both and have been successful with both of them. I had custom drapes made for my living room where I was able to get the exact look I wanted. My bedroom drapes, however, were purchased off the rack from a reputable company that stood behind the product. This is very important me because if there was a flaw in what I purchased they would give me a replacement without a problem plus I could easily install them myself.
