It’s winter, it’s cold and we’re discussing… Fireplaces! We looked at how the new electric console fireplaces (that’s a fireplace built into a television center or console) can add warmth to a room without the need to rip out a wall and spend lots of hard earn money. We also discussed how we can use a portable fireplace to warm up any space that you’re in. Last week we saw how Wall Mounted Fireplaces can add warmth with contemporary style easily to any room, but warm weather is coming soon (I promise!) so let’s take this conversation outdoors and talk about Outdoor Fireplaces!

Outdoor Fireplaces: Your front and backyard are also part of your home. You should be able to enjoy them even when it’s cold outside. Sure you can go “all out” with a permanent stone or brick fireplace, but we’re talking flexibility here! What’s more flexible than a fire pit!? Luckily there’s a lot to choose from in this department. Nowadays you don’t have to actually dig a pit! The round fire pit shown here is a simple concrete ore, great for outdoor gatherings and its minimalist look pairs well with different outdoor styles. You can choose to get it with a built in gas-burner; this would mean that you’d have to hook it up to an existing outdoor gas line. Or chose a wood burning bowl, in this case wood pellets are commonly used to fuel the fire. Did you also know that you can make your own homemade fire pit!? There are endless possibilities; it just takes a little research. Don’t let February get the best of you, fight back with fire!!
